Rev. Dr. Kwabena Darko (Chairman)
Rev. Darko has been a member of the Board and Chairman of the Company since its incorporation. He is the founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Darko Farms & Co. Limited, one of the most successful private enterprises in Ghana. Since 2001, he has served as a Director of the Bank of Ghana. He has held many responsible positions and served on numerous Boards including Opportunity International – US and is the former Chairman of Sinapi Aba Trust, Ghana. He holds a Diploma in Poultry Science from Rupin Institute, Israel and an honorary Doctorate from KNUST, Kumasi. |
JAMES BERGMAN (Vice Chairman)
Mr. Bergman has been a member of the Board since September 2004 and is currently the Vice Chairman. He was a founder and General Partner of DSV Partner III and IV and their predecessors.
He currently serves as a Special Limited partner for Cardinal Partners, LLC and Partner of Brantley Partners. Ha has served on the Boards of Concordia University-(Advisory), Opportunity International, the Christian Center of Park City and the UCLA Foundation. He holds a BSC in Engineering and an MBA from the University of California, USA. |
BENJAMIN MONTEMAYOR (Chief Executive Officer)
Mr. Montemayor has been with the Company since 2001 and was appointed as its Chief Executive Officer in 2004. He has held senior management positions in major commercial banks in the Philippines including RPB Venture Capital, Republic Planters Bank, Philippines National Bank, and National Investment & Development Corporation. He holds an MBA (Finance) from the University of the Philippines and BA (Econ) and advanced studies in economics from the Ateneo de Manila University. He is a recipient of the Benigno Aquino award for excellence in microfinance development. |
DR, SAMUEL AFRANE
Dr. Afrane has been a member of the Board Since its inception. He is the Head of Department, Planning KNUST, Kumasi. He is a researcher and consultant with vast experience in strategic planning, and institutional and district development planning. He has undertaken several local and international microfinance and poverty reduction research projects for the World Bank, United Nations and other international Bodies. He has a number of research papers and publications to his credit. Dr. Afrane holds a Phd from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada, an MSC from the University College of Swansea Wales, UK, and a BSc (Hons) from KNUST, Kumasi. |
MURIEL EDUSEI
Mrs. Edusei has been a member of the Board since September 2004. she is the Regional Manager for Anglophone West Africa for Oikocredit, The Netherlands. Prior to joining Oikocredit, she worked with Bank for Housing & Construction and National Investment Bank where she held headship positions from Credit Operations, External Loans and Foreign Operations Departments. She holds an MBA in Finance and a BSc in Business Administration (Accounting Option) from the University of Ghana, Legon and received post graduate training in management and finance from Boston University, USA. |
ERNESTINA FREDUA ANTOH
Mrs. Fredua Antoh has been a member of the Board since its inception. Her professional and practical interest is gender and development in which she has consulted extensively for British Council, the European Union, the World Bank, World Food Programme, Japan International Cooperation Agency and the Department for International Development, Uk. She is the former head of the Research Unit Bureau of Intergrated Rural Development, KNUST, Kumasi and currently the head of the training unit. She holds a Master’s Degree in Rural Social Development from the University of Reading, UK and a certificate in Planning and Appraisal of Rural Development Projects from the University of Bradford, UK. |
FRANCIS PELEKAMOYO
Francis Pelekamoyo’s 35-year career in banking began when he joined the Reserve Bank of Malawi (Central Bank) as a Research Clerk. After a series of promotions through various departments, Pelekamoyo ultimately took the helm as Governor of the Central Bank. In this role, he was primarily responsible for issuing legal tender currency; helping to maintain a stable economic and financial structure in Malawi and ensuring sufficient resources were available to the private sector. Francis received his Bachelor of Science Degree (Chemistry and Economics) at Chancellor College, University of Malawi. He also holds a Diploma in Monetary Economics at St. Andrews University, Edinburgh Scotland and a MA in Economics at Yale University –USA. Since leaving the Reserve Bank of Malawi, he has served on twenty boards within the microfinance and banking industry including Opportunity International partners in Zambia, Mozambique, Malawi, and, Ghana
